Editor's Verdict:

Gametart.com has a brilliant website which is perfectly representative of a strong video-game rental service. The three points they highlight all over their site are the three "P's" - pick'em, play'em, and post'em. It may be a overly simplified explanation, along with the big red and white icons of a mouse, a console controller, and an envelope, there is little left to the imagination, and yet, they perfectly describe what the service offers. The best thing is, it truly is as simple as that.

Pick'em: Log into the gametart.com website, and start building a playlist of the games you want to play. Search by keyword, genre and filter by console, or just see an A-Z list of over 2000 games that are available for your selection. Once you've found the title you want to rent, simply click 'rent it' and it will be added to your playlist. The available titles from your playlist will then be dispatched first class for next day delivery (the number depending on what your membership allows, of course) and you'll receive your games in a pre-paid plastic envelope, most likely, the next day.

Play'em: Like other rental sites, Gametart lets you keep games for as long as you like, there are no late fees or due dates, and your only limit is the entertainment factor of the titles themselves. But if you do happen to get bored of the games, all you need to do is...

Post'em: Remember that pre-paid envelope that you received your games in? Well, that also doubles as the freepost mailer you use to send your game back. All you need to do is put the disc into the mailer, pop it in the post, and as soon as Gametart gets it back, they'll immediately dispatch another title from your list.

The website itself doesn't really offer many extras compared to some of the other websites in the industry. They do offer the basic 'Rental chart', which shows which games are the most popular and most often rented, lists of new games that have recently been released, as well as a 'Coming soon' section, so you can know the release dates of the looming blockbusters, ready to rent them.

On top of this, they also have a few customised lists of games that you might want to rent, sorted into different categories, such as 'American sports,' 'Games for the Kids,' 'Games from Japan,' and 'Scary Stuff,' which is a nice addition, and can really add to the game-rental experience if you're looking for a bit of a 'lucky dip'.

Despite the excellent red, black and white colour scheme of the website, (which seems to be becoming a bit of an industry standard in game and dvd rental!) the main strengths of gametart.com seem to lie in customer service.

Although they may not have some of the bells and whistles, deals and offers that other sites offer, they are certainly not lacking in customer service. When you get in contact with the staff, you get prompt replies and they are very helpful. The posting speed is quick, and your lists are relatively quick to update. Our only qualm with gametart.com is the slightly high prices for their membership packages, which they market as weekly. However, you do get what you pay for and it's worth paying extra just for a slightly better service.

Gametart.com offers a good selection of games, with excellent customer service and website navigation, and is definately worth the subscription price, despite the low range of memberships and slightly higher costs. So click the link below, and take a look at Gametart (and their striking red site) today!
