Editor's Verdict:

Nimblethumbs.com allows you to cancel your service any time, but we're not entirely sure why you would want to. They offer a great selection of membership packages to suit your every gaming need, and brilliant prices to go along with them. The simple and easy to use website matches the rental service, which will guarantee that you'll never have to stop playing video games, ever again.

Nimblethumbs.com uses the rental-site 'list' system under a different name: the 'queue.' All you need to do is browse through the site, and then click the 'queue' button underneath the game that you want to play. You can surf by category (genre) or platform, or simply type in a keyword or two to attempt to find the title. If you're lacking on imagination, originality, or just don't feel like choosing, the 'Top Rentals' list is on a side bar, showing which games are the most popular for the game-rental enthusiasts, which should give you some indication of what is worth playing.

Underneath the "Top Rentals" chart, there is a link to a whole selection of other charts, showing the top games by category, genre and console. This is put together by the ELSPA, (Entertainment & Leisure Software Publishers Association) which shows which games are most popular according to retail sales. Although it's not very personal, and doesn't necessarily indicate game quality, it is still a decent guideline as to what games are hot, and what games are certainly not.

Once you select a game, it is automatically added to your queue, and you should keep adding games until you have around 10 titles on it, or 20 titles for the platinum membership. As with most queues, the closer you are to the beginning, the higher priority you get. The higher any given title is in your queue, the greater chance you will get of receiving that game earlier.

Once you have filled up your queue, Nimblethumbs will send out the highest priority games that are available, with the number of the games they send out depending on the membership package you have chosen. For example, if you have the bronze membership, and you have a queue of 10 games, they will send you 2 titles from your queue, and no more, until you return those titles.

Luckily enough, returning games is a simple affair: you simply have to put them back into the prepaid mailer you received them in, and send them back, with no stamps necessary. However, there is no rush at all, as you are allowed to hold onto the games as long as you like, and can even send them back separately, whenever you want, it's all just a matter of when you want to try a new game. Once they do receive a game back, they'll send out another one from your queue, but you will be expected to re-fill your queue again, to the suggested minimum of 10 titles.

Other than the Lists and Top Rental charts, there are not many extras to speak of on nimblethumbs.com, although, not much else is needed. It is a very simple website, that offers quite a simple service, and is pretty clean-cut, and easy to navigate. Nimblethumbs does seem to have a strangely small collection of titles, especially when you consider that they title themselves 'the online game rental library', but they seem to have a good track record, and offer a solid service to augment their organised, if slightly mediocre, website.

The prices and range of membership options, however, are very strong, and they offer a package that allows unlimited rentals, with 5 titles at a time, which is one of the most generous deals that any online-rental site offers, a definite bonus for the hard-core console gamer. So if you're looking for a rental-site with lots of different membership packages (which you can adjust any time you want), and very reasonable prices, nimblethumbs.com is the place for you, so check out the link below!
